With their debut EP “Blossom,” Defiance from Stuttgart marks a whipped-up start in the hardcore punk scene. The EP, which will be released digitally on April 11, 2025, and physically on May 2, 2025, through the renowned underground label BDHW Records, is a passionate testament from the band that uncovers social injustices and sparks discussion. Consisting of Sabrina Chaparro, Marlene Feller, Robin Khorrami, and Daniel Knöpfler, Defiance embodies a powerful sound of a new generation of hardcore/punk that not only makes music but also sends clear messages, reminiscent of the old-timers in the scene.
In “Blossom,” there is no overarching theme, yet the love for music and the collective joy of creative expression are foregrounded. This EP is a blossoming work of art that addresses societal injustices as well as celebrates personal freedom and development. Each track speaks volumes about the necessity for change and the pursuit of a fairer coexistence, whether it’s condemning economic exploitation, addressing the challenges of life as a woman, or combating homophobia.
With “Blossom,” Defiance establishes itself as a voice of inclusion and resistance, deserving attention not only in Germany but also internationally. Prepare to be swept away by this dynamic EP that promises to cause a stir both on stage and within the scene. The voice of a new generation!
